Thrifting, junking, goodwill, Salvation Army, Antiquing, or as my husband calls it..."If you don't want or need it...they will have it".
We call it Treasure Hunting.
It felt like a good treasure hunting day as it was raining again. Plus I had two bins and a old Dirt Devil Vacuum to donate.
So Easton cleaned out his McQueen piggy bank (Picture about 100 dimes and pennies rolling around in his pocket) and we headed out to our local thrift store.
We went to Value Village. Not my favourite as the money doesn't all go to charity (does any?)and they mark their items SUPER high, but the one by our house usually has gems, but really... it is hit or miss.
Lately it has been miss.
But not today.
Today we were ALL blessed.
Easton found this and of course has been wearing it all day.
He also found these Night Garden people {don't ask me their names}. After we gave them a quick bath, they were ready for playing.
He also got a Monsters Inc. book on CD to listen to in the car. He loves those Read Along Books - so do we. Absolute quiet for 15 min.
Avery got some adorable gently used clothes(all reasonably priced)that I can't wait to get her into.
Turquoise Polka Dot Shirt Children's Place {$4.99}
Jean Skirt GAP {$2.99}
Pink Striped Top GAP {$3.99}
Yessss.
And what did Momma get?
A lovely black thick braided belt(a steal at $1.99)
Perfect for those summer dresses (its not shiny like this pic though. It is A-mazing.
A thin red belt...($1.99).
I have been looking for one for awhile and they are either too pricey or look cheap. This one fit the bill perfectly. Lets hope I wear it.
This lovely ruffle bottom grey top...($5.99)...looks good with the belt don't you think? Skinny jeans and black flats? I am trying here...
And...the gem...
The item that made me squeal in the store?
Yes.
It is true. Thrifted.
So stylish, fashionable, gently used and for a measly $6.99 it was mine. And it fit like a glove.
I can't wait to wear it with these Sandals from last year.
That is one thing I can't buy when Treasure Hunting.
Shoes.
Gives me the heebie jeebies. I suppose I could do shoes that you wear with socks. But even then... the "ick" factor is WAY to high.
So we came home all happy and satisfied with our treasure, the kids had lunch and I attempted to tidy up.
I need to go make the bed now.
Fold laundry.
Then do more laundry. Baby A likes to help.
Vacuum again and then start dinner.
Oh, and finish my lunch.
