Big

Five.

Five years old.

FIVE!!!!

I don't know why...but it seemed like a big one.

Well. For me.

It was like a passage of some sort. Sniff sniff...I still can't believe it.

Five. Wow.

It began like all birthdays do in our house...the frantic cake make night.

I tried a new recipe.
I know...CRAZY...but it sounded so good.
It was Betty's Chocolate Cake from the Barefoot Contessa.
In a word...Yum.
In a few words...another piece please.
So good. So moist. So tasty. SO choco-latte-lovely.

She never leads me astray.

Neither does he.

Such skill and patience.

When I had none left.

I felt like this guy. Ready to kill.

I seem to fall apart at this time in the game.

So I did some dishes...

Packed some goodie bags...

and watched Mr. Man create a tree...out of gum paste.

He rocked it.

He sprayed it.

I grated cheese...

Tillimook Cheese from Washington to be exact. All natural goodness. GOODNESS...at a tasty price too. That's right...CHEESE. I love it. Get yours at your local US Costco today!

I fried up some double smoked bacon from Hopcotts.

Tried real hard not to sample.

Did I say try?

Back to the main event...

Drum Roll please...

Holla!!! I loved it. LOVED it.

So did he.

You can eat those rocks!
Their chocolate rocks.
Pure genius.
Throw on some little plastic dinos from Michaels, Mr.Mans palm tree plus a scary T-Rex and voila...
one happy kid.

Little E waits patiently...keeps asking for a piece.
Over and over and over and over and over and over and over...you get it.

Thankfully there was one of these to distract him.

Lots of family there to help set up and have some laughs. Yes...those are my Dads red shoes.
Vans.
He rocks.

Baby A wasn't so accommodating with the photos.

Managed to get this cute little moment though...

What a cutie pie.

Lunch was Mac N Cheese and salads...flowers from my garden.

Party tricks provided by Baby A

More Dinosaurs ...even the gummies are Dinos!
I am not a huge theme person...but...he is only 5 once.

Finally his big moment.

I remember pictures like these ones from my birthday parties.

Then me and Baby A go sit in the yard to watch this...

Mass hysteria...also known as the present opening.
It was INSANE.

Others preferred a quiet moment...

But that didn't last long...

Not with Captain America in the house!!

Lots of wonderful gifts and memories to last us all another year.

Five was tough...but in the end...five is starting out pretty cool.

Happy 5th Birthday Little E...love you.

E.
